House guidelines / rules + fotos

House guidelines / rules:  These r discussed / decided at weekly house meetings 

choca house is in a quiet residential zone ... we have to 'fit in ' We've arelready had 1 or 2 probs with the neighbours. Therefore each of us must either follow the rules or find somewhere else  

1, No smoking - this includes not in the stairways or by the street front door

 

2, No music after 11pm + no talking on the balcony after 11pm ( already complaints about this~!!)

FOOD: Plz label food - any unlabelled food = every1's  :) !!

Plz put open food in fridge / jar / tupperware - the CRs can't get at it!!

NO HANGING CLOTHES ON BALCONY / BALCONY APPEARANCE ***   Do not hang clothes on balcony - there is actually a law in Portugal which says if u have a back washing line u must use that instead of the front and u can be fined ( which would be paid by the person who did this!!)

Plz use kitchen window only. Plz keep balcony looking clean / tidy at least visibly from the street. The landlord has already been angry about this!! 

FOOD IN BEDROOMS: Plz don't leave dirty plates in bedroom to stop cockroaches

BEDROOM CLEANING: Plz vacuum bedroom once a week

NO DIRTY PL8S IN SINK / DONT LEAVE FOOD IN SAUCEPANS

ENERGY / MONEY SAVING : 

Save energy = save planet + money!!

Heater = uses lots of electricity so bills big dif.!!

Gas bottle = 31€ , when used well lasts for 3 / 4 weeks, when using oven a lot = 2 weeks  

Washing machine: full + max 1x a week??

JOB ROTAS
KITCHEN:
ROTA
- cooker: goodnite wipe over    every nite
- sweep floor / surfaces / tabletop   x1 a day
- wash floor   x1 week
- empty general rubbish   every nite
- empty paper / bottles / plastic   when necessary but only if space in downstairs bins ( do NOT leave beside bin ) 
- clean out / wash fridge   1x a  month - whoever's lucky enuf to have 1st monday rota of month!!

EVERY1
- empty general rubbish when full
- wipe cooker after using
- clean dish rack when full
- wipe food from table tops
- wash up pans / pl8s after using ( plz don't leave dirty stuff in sink for CRs to snack on or for some1 else to clean up)
- Use saucepans lids + measure water ( to save money and planet!!)
- PLUG HOLE: plz use plug hole trap or pipe will get blocked. Stop CRs - empty food in plug hole into bin

- mop floor / wipe surfaces / wash floor   x1 a week
- empty general rubbish   when needed

EVERY1
- wipe basin after u
- cleen bath + plug hole

ROTA
- get 'fruta feia' ( ugly fruit)   1x a week
- tidy + sweep corridors + 2 lobbies
- Freecycle for things for house

choca house has a 5 year contract to stay ( may 2017 ) . Then in 2022 the landlord may or not let us stay depending how positive he is with us!



EVERY1
plz cleen / tidy up after u

LAUNDRY: 1x a week / every 10 days. Suggestion: only wash ur sheets / towel when necessary  ( to save money and planet!!)
